Declaration of Independence
By Lauryn
The Declaration of Independence is great in many ways. For instance, the Declaration of Independence is a document that declared our independence from being ruled, taxed, and abused by England's king. This one document was signed by fifty-six men. And included statements of our philosophy, list of complaints, and a final Declaration of our Independence.
Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Robbert Livingston are only few of the people who were involved in making and signing the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson was the one who wrote the rough draft, and a group of people edited it to make it sound better, Finally, Jefferson rewrote it.
The Declaration of Independence was made final on July 4th, 1776. This document was signed in the Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Declaration of Independence is a symbol of freedom because it is a paper that tells us we are free from England's rule. If we didn't have the Declaration of Independence, our lives would be a lot different. We would not be our own country and many lives would be changed. Who knows what our life would be like without the Declaration of Independence.
